Study Programmes

Pitsford School is set in the heart of England. The School’s aim is to develop pupils academically and personally. Pitsford School gains excellent results at GCSE and A Level and is the county’s leading independent day School. There are a range of subjects to study and a wide range of extra-curricular activities available to all pupils.

Pre – GCSE

Applicants can join Pitsford School between the ages of 11 and 13. Students joining at this time will study the National Curriculum. It is an opportunity for younger applicants to improve their language skills preparing for GCSE examinations at the age of 16.

Year abroad

It is possible for applicants to join Pitsford School for a single year at aged 12 or 13. Students must have good English skills. An ideal opportunity for those who have already received some schooling in the English language.

GCSE

Applicants can join Pitsford School at the age of 14 when they can study a two year GCSE course.

A Level

Applicants can join Pitsford School for a two year A Level course at the age of 16 or 17. These qualifications will allow students the opportunity to apply to further their education at University.

Application Process

Prospectus

Following an initial enquiry, the School’s prospectus, application form and related information will be sent.

Application

The Overseas Application Form should be completed by parent / guardian and returned to Pitsford School. Please include a recent passport sized photograph and a copy of the page in your passport showing personal details.

A Level Choices

Initial subject selections to be made and sent with application form.

Entry Criteria

Pitsford School will request a reference from the applicant’s current School. An interview with the Headmaster will be arranged and an entrance test may be required. A further discussion of A Level option choices with the Headmaster is available if required.

Offer of a Place

Applicant will be offered a place dependent on results from written tests and interview.

Following a successful application, an offer letter will be presented to the parents/ guardians of the applicant. If they wish to accept the offer, parents / guardians should complete the Acceptance Form with the required deposit. Full payment is to be made at least 30 days prior to commencement of course. All fees are to be paid annually. The deposit will be returned when the pupil leaves the School.

Home Stay Accommodation and Guardianship

Becoming an International pupil at Pitsford School gives the opportunity to have a true English experience. International pupils live with a host family in areas local to the School. This allows pupils to improve their English skills and learn more about English culture.

Pitsford School use a local agent, Gateway, who act as guardians to each pupil. They are the pupils’ main contact point and communication will be sent through Gateway to the parents.
