GCSE Examination results 2010
August 24, 2010
Congratulations are due to our Year 11 pupils as they receive their GCSE examination results today.  This was another record year and our pupils can now approach their Sixth Form studies full of confidence.  However, we are not an academic hot-house and it has been a very busy year for this cohort. As can be seen in earlier news items, they have performed in plays and concerts, represented the School at sport and many have also managed to work towards Duke of Edinburgh awards during the year. Alex Louden, Abi Seward and Frankie Bell did particularly well,  achieving 22 A* & 8 A grades... [Read the full story]

Althorp House Charity Day
June 24, 2010
Althorp House selected Diabetes UK as their charity and spent the day raising money for this worthwhile cause. The day started with an assembly given by Joy Tootell from Diabetes UK. Natalyia read an account from a Type 1 diabetes sufferer which explained how lonely it can be and how several... [Read the full story]

J3 cycling at Pitsford Reservoir
May 28, 2010
Unfortunately I was unable to attend this week’s Lunchtime Concert due to a prior commitment to join J3 in their ride around Pitsford Reservoir as part of Juniors Activity Week. I had heard some of the Y9 and Y10 girls practicing earlier in the week at the piano outside my study and what a delightful sound it was. On the other hand, my day with J3 was excellent. Along with Mrs Brown and Mrs Jones, we rode the eight mile circuit around the reservoir in good time. With quite a range of prior experience on show I was very impressed by all, particularly Mrs Jones who piloted one of the two... [Read the full story]

July 6, 2010
Twelve players took part in a pairs cricket match between Old Pitsfordian’s and The Headmasters XI on Sunday, during the School Fete. The entrants were paired up by ability, with everyone fielding and some fierce competitions ensued. Those coming out on top in five head to head contests were Chris Bellamy, Amar Odedra, Kunal Patel, Imran Butt and Stuart Keeping. Gallant runners up included Tom and Stuart Bendall, our father and son team, Chris Boyson, John Smortfitt and Noel Toone. Thanks also have to go to Ben Keeping, Jack Keeping, Chris Stanley and the Grounds staff for their support. Many... [Read the full story]
