Water Worlds With J5

On Friday 18 May, J5 went to the Everdon Field Studies Centre as part of their work on ‘Water Worlds’. Recently, they have been studying rivers and this trip gave them the opportunity to measure the surface speed of Snorscomb Stream and to carry out measurements to construct a cross section of the stream one back at school.

Luckily, for the first time this week, the sun shone and the children enjoyed walking across the fields to the river bank to carry out their investigations.

The best part of the day though, was finding out what lived under the water. The children used nets and trays to catch and then identify a variety of creatures. They had such a good time that they were in no rush to get back!
